Job Description
The Company
Our client is a world-class manufacturer of food products. They are seeking a Production Supervisor for their facility located nearby Springfield, Illinois.
The Opportunity
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the overall coordination of personnel, raw materials and production equipment. Key performance measures will include production schedule attainment, safety, cost effectiveness and achievement of product quality goals. This is a visible position with the potential for upward career mobility within a dynamic and leading company in the food industry. Other responsibilities include:
Supervise union employees. Identify training needs. Develop core competencies. Support safety initiatives. Coordinate safety meetings and training. Ensure adherence with the company’s formal Quality System program. Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policy. Lead continuous improvement teams. Participate in company sponsored environmental initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in engineering, biology, chemistry or related field. 5 years experience in manufacturing. Supervisory experience. Union work-force experience a plus. Leadership and teamwork skills. Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement principles. Interpersonal, communication & problem solving skills.
