Job Description
Frank Group Inc., a premier national food industry recruiting firm, is actively seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Assurance Management position within the dairy industry.

SUMMARY

This position manages the overall total quality focus in the milk processing plant, including but not limited to troubleshooting plant issues, quality assurance laboratory, sanitation programs, HACCP, USDA, the Florida Department of Agriculture standards, third party audits, regulatory compliance and customer complaints. Achieve the quality, safety, compliance and operational goals of the company. Coordinate, oversee and provide training to employees in the lab area. Coordinate with customer service, production and inventory/accounting departments to ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities: Manage quality assurance laboratory procedures and interpretation of results. Provide credible laboratory data and quality management. Manage quality issues throughout plant. Provide SOP and troubleshooting support in problem resolution. Increase productivity by effectively managing employees. Lead continuous improvement activities. Ensure products are of the highest quality to meet company standards and customer specifications. Manage customer complaint process. Provide resolution of customer related issues in a timely manner. Manage plant sanitation program. Establish and maintain sanitation program that provides for environmental and product quality. Manage regulatory requirements and ensure local, state and federal compliance. Oversee customer inspections, third party audits, inspections and certifications. Maintain a safe work environment for employees and visitors by adhering to company policies and procedures for safe work practices and conditions. Accountable for compliance with all OSHA, FDA, USDA, Company and all applicable State and Federal guidelines and regulations to maintain Food Safety and Quality standards for all products. Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and help employees adapt to changes in the business environment. Meet company production and profit goals, responsible for positive budget results to achieve results at or below budget projection. Work with Human Resources to provide required training to employees. Implement work schedule and instruction. Responsible for daily timekeeping for employees. Perform other duties assigned by superintendent or plant manager. Secondary Job Functions: Interview and recommend for hire, advancement or termination. Coach employees to ensure optional individual and team performance. Frequently check and monitor operating condition of laboratory equipment and keep in proper operating condition at all times. Provide timely follow-up when repairs are needed. Participate in leadership development training. High level of reliability and high standard of integrity. Experience, Skills and/or Requirements: Must posses strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership and team building skills. Have experience in testing all raw material and finished products. Successfully complete pre-employment drug test and background check. Citizenship or have a valid work visa. Education and Work Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in food science, food microbiology, microbiology, biology, chemistry or related field preferred. Five to seven years of supervision/management experience preferably in the dairy or food manufacturing industry. Have a working knowledge of dairy regulatory requirements. Knowledge of computer applications relating to work. Technical Aptitude: Understanding of dairy laboratory procedures including but not limited to fat and solids testing, micro testing, pH, titratable acidity, and ATP. Knowledge and understanding of statistical process controls as a tool for continuous improvement. Ability to work in a safe and sanitary manner.
