JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible for the departmental and overall sanitation and housekeeping functions of the plant; to plan, direct, and coordinate the above activities, to ensure sanitary operating conditions in the plant. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Evaluate, modify, and design sanitation policies and procedures to ensure product quality and integrity. To create, maintain, and reassess written sanitation procedures that will effectively accomplish the task of ensuring product safety at all times.
  • To maintain and ensure the safety of all employees through proper training, enforcement of safety rules, and follow proper procedures and knowledge of Safety Compliance.
  • Maintain a sound working relationship with other departments to ensure no interruption in business and a fair but strict implementation of all working company rules.
  • To understand and enforce all company policies and procedures as well as good manufacturing practices.
  • Order chemicals and maintain chemical inventories
  • Ensure constant communication with all levels of management regarding sanitation issues.
  • Promote and maintain teamwork among employees through regularly scheduled departmental meetings and daily leadership practices.
  • Originate, plan, and implement cost savings projects
  • To plan and initiate cross training of all employees with proper documentation of performance so that the objectives of the sanitation department can be met at all times.
  • Ensure that start-ups of production lines; to make sure all departments and lines are cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion
  • Maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Perform bi-monthly departmental sanitation inspections.
  • To help ensure all deficiencies are corrected and documented.
  • Assist in inducting sampling of bacteria, yeast, and mold count testing.
  • Train non-sanitation employees in chemical safety.
  • Responsible for food safety, food defense and food quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

  • Bachelor degree is preferred.

    Experience:

  • 2 yrs minimum supervisory experience in manufacturing and/or sanitation environment preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft operations (excel, word, power point)
