SMALLER PRIVATELY HELD COMPANY LOCATED IN THE NORTHEAST IS LOOKING FOR A:
POSITION: R&D Technologist (Brewmaster Type) with experience with Brewing, Cider, Wine LOCATION: Vergennes, VT (Small Town Area - Beautiful to Live - Mountainous) - County Pop 2007 - 36K People, SALARY: NEGOTIABLE - Please specify current salary base + bonus compensation DEGREE: Not Required EXPERIENCE: 3-5+ Years TRAINING: Prefer training in Viticulture and Enology RELOCATION: Available
Basic Function In charge of new product development of product styles, flavors, and processes. Responsible for aggressively researching new ingredients
and materials to be on the cutting edge of product making innovation. In addition, this position will be called upon from time to time to present these product to our sales team, wholesalers, and consumers in the form of tastings, presentations, festivals, or other venues. Assist our current employees in securing and developing specifications for raw materials and processing of those materials into the highest quality product. Responsibilities
1. Coordinate product design and manufacturing of product with a strong focus on new product development and innovation. 2. Research on the industry trends of new products and new processes. 3. Track competitive activity in the product category and prepare periodic reports summarizing such activity. 4. Present product making techniques to our sales team, wholesalers and consumers at various venues. 5. Test, recommend, and implement new processes or ingredients for cider. 6. Work with vendors to secure the highest quality ingredients for our ciders. 7. Assist and back up product maker for government record's requirements. 8. Assist in physical making of product. 9. Perform standard product making tests, analysis, and prepare appropriate work orders. 10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education/Training Degree: Bachelors Degree of Science
Experience 2-5 years experience in the Wine, Brewery, or Cider industries
