Job Description
Summary:

Supervises and co-ordinates workers. Determines staffing needs, estimates materials and supplies needed to complete work. Establishes methods to meet work schedules. Prepares production, progress or other reports.

Duties:

Plans and organizes production personnel to meet schedules and day to day required outputs of budgeted labor standards and acceptable quality levels. Plans ahead to cover any shortfalls in staffing to maintain required outputs.

Monitors efficiency and quality of operation and individual personnel, providing direction to ensure Company quality standards are understood and maintained.

Trains new people and retrains others as needed. Must acquire sufficient working knowledge of the equipment to train employees.

Implements, maintains and monitors Company procedures and regulations.

Maintains departmental cleanliness and housekeeping at acceptable levels by ensuring that all employees fully understand GMP. Maintains plant safety at acceptable levels through training and inspecting the area.

Monitors machine efficiency for product quantity and quality and to minimize product loss.

Calls maintenance personnel to correct machine malfunction.

Experience:

Work experience in an industrial environment: minimum of 3 years, prefer experience in leadership role.

Education:

High School Graduate or GED

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and customers.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the job, the employee must be able to talk and hear; stand, walk, use hands to fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and/or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific visional abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focus vision.

Mechanical aptitude

Able to work with minimum supervision, trouble shoot process and equipment and make sound decision in a past paced work environment.
