Position:
The Category Manager contributes to The Pepsi Bottling Group’s success by applying knowledge of category best practices and consumer insights against objectives, strategies and opportunities. This person will interpret business data to develop fact-based recommendations that support achievement of sales objectives. The Category Manager is responsible to provide ongoing assessment and monitoring to determine the effectiveness of various business tactics, they must maintain comprehensive knowledge of customers, Consumer Insights and various tools. This individual develops plans to capitalize on identified opportunities.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Analyze business trends to develop business growth strategy.
- Manage category review process to ensure distribution, shelving and pricing objectives are achieved.
- Apply knowledge of category and consumer insights along with best practices to create solutions to satisfy both PBG and account strategies and objectives.
- Develop fact based plans from analysis and prepare account presentations with recommendations.
- Forecast, track and analyze volume, pricing, and Customer Development Agreements (CDA).
- Establish strong working relationship with customers to increase depth of understanding.
- Monitor progress towards achievement of business objectives and effectives of tactics, recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business
- Professional accomplishments that reflect self-motivation and initiative
- 3 years category analyst and consumer insight experience required
- Education in Category Management and Consumer Insights/Marketing is an asset
- Solid leadership and interpersonal skills required
- Demonstrated analytical and math skills required
- Strong communication and presentation skills required
- Consumer Products experience in a direct store delivery environment is a an asset
- Demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Suite
- Possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Some business travel required
