Job Description
Newly Weds Foods, a leader in customized taste technology seeks experienced talent for its Quality Assurance area in its Memphis plant located in Horn Lake, MS. The ideal candidate will come from the surrounding area and be able to commute to work.
Position: Quality Control Supervisor, First Shift
Reporting to: Manager of Quality Control
Job Duties:
Assign, schedule and supervise Quality Control Technicians in the performance of their duties. Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager to ensure the department is supervised effectively, work processes meet standards and quality assurance is continuously improved. Coordinate Customer audits and work closely with customers and sales team members. Manage and update the complaint process and communicate with Customer Service, Production, QC and R&D to gather needed information. Record and compile test results and prepare graphs, charts, records, forms, spreadsheets, audit data, correspondence, and reports. Analyze test results to classify products, to compare results with standards or to make changes as needed and approved. Apply knowledge of Quality Control to instruct and work with QC Technicians, Production employees and R&D food scientists, as needed. Conduct standardized tests on food, additives and preservatives to ensure compliance with standards and regulations regarding factors such as color, texture and nutrients. Requirements:
3-5 years of Quality Control experience in a food environment. Supervisory experience of Quality Control Technicians and a through knowledge of Quality Control procedures, techniques, and terminology. An Associates Degree in Business or Technical Field or equivalent education is required.
