Job Description
Resource, DC Operatiaons Description: This position provides leadership to manage assigned shift, during 7 day per week operation of the Distribution Center. This includes preparing and managing the departmental budget, coordinating maintenance activities, equipment upgrades, supervisory and hourly employees, and administering all company contracts, policies, and procedures. Work as a coach, facilitator and mentor to successfully transform the shift’s 40+ employees from a traditional work place to a High Performance Work System. This position ensures that the expanding case volume meets the quality expectations of the company, while improving bottom line results as to cost per case. Finally, this position establishes and maintains operational measurements that demonstrate continuous improvement, and directs efforts to significantly improve service levels, profitability margins, efficiencies and cost saving initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: **Ability to determine the most effective organization and job structure to accomplish a goal or strategy; appropriately redesigning tasks/jobs to maximize opportunities for employee empowerment, culture change, continuous improvement, and flexibility. **Ability to analyze and quickly adjust the process and productivity levels to correspond with the quality and quantity of cases of product, equipment failures, packaging requirements, and sales volumes. **Appropriate interpersonal style to guide and shape individuals toward goal achievement. **Ability to empower decisions making authority and task responsibility to direct reports. **Provide necessary feedback, support and resources to direct reports utilizing their time, skills and potential. **Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to express ideas effectively in various situations. Adjust language or terminology to characteristics and needs of a diverse group. **Ability to develop, administer and manage budgets. **Knowledge of forklifts, conveying equipment, full pallet conveying systems, storage, warehousing and distribution of cased materials. **Knowledge of warehouse locator systems and inventory management. **Knowledge of systems to maximize labor utilization. **Knowledge of microbiological concerns of a food grade product, especially food grade containers. **Knowledge of ISO, HACCP, HAZMAT, operating procedures, and OSHA/VPP safety requirements. **Ability to operate a variety of computer programs (MS Office, TIMMS, AMAPS, e-mail). **Ability to develop a collaborative relationship with union leadership. **Ability to coach , facilitate, mentor and build trust during change.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: **Manage the overall operations (receiving, storage and shipping) of over 800,000 square feet of refrigerated and ambient warehousing through which 120 million cases are moved annually. **Provide leadership to Administrative coordinators, approximately 5 hourly leads and 40+ hourly personnel. The operation must consistently meet the demand of shipping and warehousing over 9,000,000 cases per month. **Conduct quarterly performance reviews and annual performance appraisals of direct reports to facilitate their development and provide timely feedback and guidance to obtain business objectives and individual career goals. Directly link that process to the maximization of the department's objectives related to quality, safety, and quality of job life, diversity and productivity. **Facilitate the development of Leads through documented expectations, coaching, training, and quarterly feedback sessions. **Facilitate the development of employee involvement to lead the organization into high performance work systems. **Manage internal and external customer relationships, seek feedback and provide solutions to customer needs, give high priority to customer satisfaction. **Bring new production capacity on line. Facilitate the trouble shooting process for start up issues so as to maximize efficiency in the least amount of time. **Monitor product quality to ensure it meets company standards. **Improve reliability and operating efficiencies of warehousing and shipping operations. **Initiate and manage cost reduction/cost control initiatives. **Manage departmental labor relations (union) issues, staffing requirements, and all other company policies and procedures. **Assume other responsibilities and perform special functions as may be assigned by the General Supervisor. Requirements: **Bachelor Degree in Business Management or related field** 5-7 years experience in warehousing and shipping and 1-3 years of packaging production experience. 5-7 years of demonstrated increased responsibility in supervisory, management or comparable leadership positions. 3-5 years stock locator experience and working with RF equipment.
