Job Description
We invite applications for the position of Director, Global Supply Chain Technical Engineering - Pet Nutrition. As the Director, Global Supply Chain Technical Engineering for Hill’s Pet Nutrition, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Global Engineering Strategy for the pet nutrition category, the largest of five categories for Colgate-Palmolive. You will build relationships and common programs with Product Development R&D, Global Business Development, Division and Subsidiary business, Supply Chain Management, Global Packaging, Quality, EOHS, Procurement and CS&L Departments, as well as, outside consultants and suppliers. This position serves as the "architect" of new processes to meet new product needs and improve manufacturing productivity. This category truly makes the best technical products in the Pet Food industry. Responsibilities for this position include: Leads the development and implementation of the process and engineering strategies to achieve category strategic business and global strategic sourcing plans Directs continual improvement of Hill's worldwide manufacturing with a focus on equipment startup and reliability, engineering process flexibility and micro/quality integrity, as well as, support for capacity expansion, acquisitions, and new product initiatives Manages a global network of Supply Chain Engineering resources for maximum effectiveness and efficiency in the execution of associated programs; achieves these goals through multi-functional teams involving Corporate and plant resources Develops the engineering processes, programs, and projects to meet the Corporate Global Supply Chain Sales and Profit targets Ensures process, equipment, and operational specifications are consistent with, and support, Quality and EOHS Standards Ensures efficient and timely documentation and/or transfer of manufacturing and engineering technologies throughout the Hill's world Directs the improvement of the global SC engineering team by selecting, recruiting, developing, and retaining highly competent people, developing and implementing performance evaluation and succession planning programs for the department, and defines and realizes changes to the organizational structure as needed Ensures manufacturing processes and equipment support of new product bundles to achieve target cost, and works to identify ongoing margin improvement opportunities Ensures that product development addresses standardization and simplification for materials, formulas, manufacturing processes and packaging Understands industry/competitive trends, consumer insight tools, market research methodologies and claim substanitiation

Basic Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering 10+ years of experience in Process Engineering 4+ years of experience managing people 4+ years of experience within the Food industry, or a related consumer goods industry Ability to travel 10-25%

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Project Management/Project Engineering Experience interfacing with the USDA and/or FDA MBA Ability to understand and develop an overall strategic view of the business as a whole Results oriented and collaborative Hands-on work style
