Job Description
BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE To support George Weston Bakeries Inc. in the development and execution of Brand Plans.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES •Coordinate the implementation of product improvements, line extensions and segment restages, including concept development, flavor selection, product development, advertising, packaging, consumer and trade promotion, pricing and marketing research.
•Provide management of day-to-day logistical business issues and assist in development of Brand plans. Develop rationale for Brand initiatives and justification for investment needed (e.g. capital or marketing expense). Forecast and track new product volume and marketing support.
•Act as a passionate advocate for the Brand in every way possible. Work closely with field sales and distribution operators on implementation of line extension and product improvement initiatives, coordination of introductory support programs.
•Provide leadership and assistance in the coordination efforts of cross- functional groups on key initiatives such as category business building, packaging/label changes, new products, product improvements, and productivity projects. Deepen the broader organization's understanding of strategic goals and ensure execution.
•Conduct ongoing analysis and tracking of category and competitive trends, competitive pricing and promotional programs. Continuously provide GWB with market understanding and assist in the development of marketing strategies. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree with prior consumer packaged goods or food industry experience required. MBA preferred. Candidate must have strong communication skills and demonstrated analytical skills with ability to generate business insights from diverse data sources.
