Maintains, improves, and deploys throughout the factory, the quality systems as defined in Wrigley's Global Quality Management Systems. (WQMS) Manages the audit processes for these quality systems.
Responsibilities
1. Ensures the implementation and adherence to quality systems. 2. Oversees the maintenance, deployment and verification of effectiveness and modifies as needed, established Quality Assurance systems across the factory. Works with Global Quality and all factory functions to ensure effective transfer of systems. 3. Leads the establishment and continuous improvement of factory food safety (HACCP) processes, requirements, tools, and training that are aligned with the latest, most appropriate (including Codex and ISO 22000) industry food safety control strategies. 4. Communicates food safety processes & requirements and delivers training to cross-functional groups to ensure HACCP is effectively implemented & applied during the development, scale-up, and on-going production of all Wrigley products. 5. Standardizes, maintains, and continuously improves Quality procedures and systems across the value chain (from supplier through client experience), and assures that such procedures are appropriately integrated to result in Gold Standard products while being timely and cost effective. Assures that client staff members are trained in the ongoing performance and maintenance of procedures. 6. Functions as a source of expertise on quality and food safety systems within Quality Assurance. 7. Assists all groups in the development of solid corrective action plans to quality system deficiencies. 8. Develops the factory audit program that includes, training of new assessors, calibration of current assessors, verification of effectiveness, and annual schedule. 9. Assesses systems, policies and procedures to identify any quality opportunities or areas for quality system improvements that ensure the quality of products, that include WQMS, GMP, HACCP, Document Control, and Nonconformance / Corrective Action processes. 10. Remain abreast of new developments in assigned area of responsibility by reviewing professional literature and attending training sessions as indicated. 11. Remain current in WQMS regulations and/or other regulatory requirements as needed. 12. Perform other non-routine tasks as assigned. 13. Participate in a team based environment. 14. Develop statistically based sampling plans as the basis for production line inspection and testing programs, completed by line operators 16. Lead and participate in focused improvement project teams, capital project start up teams and problem solving teams. 17. Develop and train other in quality related SOPs
Requirements:
1. Technical Bachelor's degree required
2. 3 plus years of professional experience in quality / quality system discipline
3. Experience with and knowledge of accredited quality and food safety standards and auditing, e.g. ISO 90001, ISO 22000, Codex, ISO 10000
4. Strong experience in manufacturing (food preferred)
5. Good understanding in gum and/or confectionary technology preferred
6. Strong project and organizational management
7. Skilled in aligning and complex problem solving with all levels of staff

10. Excellent oral and written communication skills
11. Strong people management skills in creating a participative environment and a high performance team 12. Forward thinking, self directed, capable of making independent actions, and ability to make complex decisions that drive business performance.
13. Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills with all levels of staff including senior management.
14. Experience with Lean/TPM, Six Sigma or other structured continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
