The Judge Group, INC. is currently in search of a Degreed Quality Assurance Manager for a Large Food Manufacturing Facility located near Topeka, KS. Reports will be 1 Q.C. Materials Tech, 3 QA Technicians, a Documentation Mgr., Process Auditor and a Corporate Food Safety Manager who will have more responsibilities to Corporate but will still have a dotted line to this position. 500 person non union plant. Would ideally like to see low acid canning and thermal processing experience but will consider other Food/Beverage backgrounds. Must have: - BS (Microbiology, Animal, Meat or Food Science) - 7 years experience in QA or QC - Work experience with Regulatory Agencies (FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA) - Plant Audit experience with external agencies - Experience conducting physical audits of suppliers - Sanitation practices & pest control - Policy, procedure & Program development experience, specifically in Quality & Food Safety, including preventative measures - Demonstrated experience working in fast paced production environment, includes: - Trouble shooting - Crisis Management - Negotiation - Plant Production experience with Retorted products - Data collection & interpretation - Demonstrated written & verbal communications skills - Working Knowledge of - HACCP principles - Plant GMP requirements - SPC - Process Capability measurement - Cause-and-effect diagrams - Control Charts - Histograms - Pareto charts - Scatter Diagrams - Current Laboratory procedures to evaluate food safety & quality - Computer Experience including - Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point & Access - Coaching and personnel development This is an excellent position offering a Great Base Salary, Benefits, Bonus and Relocation Packages for highly qualified candidates. REQUIREMENTS: Qualified Candidates for the Quality Assurance Manager position MUST HAVE a 4-Year BS/BA Degree with at least 3-5 years of previous QA/QC Management experience from within a Food/Beverage Manufacturing Facility. Candidates with Thermal Processing and/or Canning experience are highly desired and will receive first consideration. Candidates also need previous experience overseeing a Plant of at LEAST 350-400 employees. Candidates should list the size(s) of plants they have previously managed.
