Description * Ensure consistent and accurate quality for raw materials and finished products at manufacturing facility.
* Create new formulas to meet project objectives - This includes sourcing raw materials, weighing ingredients, cooking small batches in lab, process identification, sensory evaluation, establishing shelf life, packing requirements, development of standards and project documentation.
* Write Kitchen and Process procedures for plant.
* Assist with in-plant implementation of new products and subsequent problem solving.
* This job requires 30% travel to Dallas for plant testing and new product implementation.
* Review and recommend improvements to all products.
* Write HACCP plan for new items.
* Work closely with Sales and Marketing to create new products.
Requirements The ideal candidate will have one to two years experience in the food industry and a through understanding of meat/ frozen/ food plant operations.
* BS in food science or food technology preferred. * Computer literate; Bi-lingual a plus. * Should enjoy working on a fast paced environment, able to work well with a variety of people. * Must have solid communication and organizational skills. * Ideal candidate must be hands on, expected to think independently and be able to trouble shoot R&D/Quality/Processing issues.
