POSITION SUMMARY
Provides leadership and expertise to the Quality Assurance function in the Americas Zone. Directly supervises Corporate Quality Assurance Department. Oversees all Quality Assurance programs to insure that all OSI system products meet or exceed minimum food safety standards, customer specifications, government regulations and OSI product standards. Reports to the Senior Executive Vice President - Americas Zone.
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direction and leadership in the Corporation's Quality Assurance programs addressing food safety minimums, compliance, customer product specification, OSI standards and government regulations, including HACCP.
- Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of the Corporation's Quality Assurance programs for OSI Group companies in the Americas Zone.
- Directs the activities of staff in the development Quality Assurance procedures for new products prior to their release for commercial use.
- Provides direction in all matters related to compliance with local, state and federal GMP guidelines and food safety regulations.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to staff as well as plant QA personnel.
- Serves as OSI Group representative on customer, industry and government food safety committees.
- Provides direction and guidance on QA issues to Europe and Asia/Pacific Zones of OSI as requested.
Required Skills:
- Recognized expertise in industry as a result of prior positions, professional publications and speaking engagements, membership on industry committees.
Experience Required:
- Masters Degree in Food Science or related field. PhD strongly preferred.
- Fifteen years of progressively more responsible QA experience in the food industry, with at least 3 years experience at the Director level, preferably within meat processing.
