Job Description
Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc. has an immediate need for an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer in our St. Louis/Clayton office.

Education BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical degree.

Experience Minimum 3-5 years of electrical engineering with PLC automation applications.

Requirements/Responsibilities Responsibilities include control system design, control panel engineering, SCADA, PLC and HMI programming, and site start-up support of integrated packaging line systems for the consumer products industry.

Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, programming, and troubleshooting of packaging machinery and line control systems as well as specific experience with Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500) PLC’s, PanelView HMI’s, Industrial Communication Networks and control panel design. Experience with RSView32, Intellution iFix, Wonderware and VisualBasic is a plus. Special consideration will be given to those candidates with DeviceNet, Ethernet and ControlNet experience.

This position requires the ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities. Candidates need to possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors. Contractor management skills are also a plus.

Travel Requirements 40-60% travel will be required to support installation and start-up activities, attend Client meetings, Design Group management meetings, company sponsored training and industry related seminars, forums or conventions. The vast majority of this will be regional travel.
