Job Description
Leading provider of quality produce seeks a QC And Food Safety Supervisor to ensure we provide only the highest quality, freshest and cleanest produce for you and your family. We are a company founded on a vision to deliver the highest quality produce using revolutionary farming techniques, state-of-the-art technology and the highest quality seeds and soil. We also offer a unique washing system with natural purifiers that is much more effective than standard wash practices.
Reporting to the VP of QC and Food Safety, the Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring our Food Safety Program and front line QC knowledge is implemented and up to date.
Overall job responsibilities:
- Implement and manage all necessary QC functions as required by company policy and/ or applicable regulations. This includes quality inspection supervision, food safety program implementation, and interface with farm quality control analyst.
- Prepare daily QC inspection reports and distribute to management. Prepare corrective action requests on all customer claims within four hours of notification and distribute to management. Develop other reports as assigned by manager.
- Ensure QC inspection support when production is in operation 100% of the time. Evaluate product quality on a daily basis being packed. Monitor inventory aging to insure fresh product is being shipped to our customers.
- Key participant in the development and maintenance of the site food safety program. Conducts regularly scheduled audits to insure compliance. Conducts a gap analysis of the requirements to the process to address corrective action plans.
- Provide QC assistance to the site operations management as required.
- Other projects as assigned by manager
Requirements:
- 2 or 4 year degree in a related field
- 1-3 years applicable experience - produce industry QA, Produce industry food safety programs, QC inspection and auditing, Produce operations support, training
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of potatoes, tomatoes, and onions is desirable
- Statistical data reporting and analysis, MS office utilization
- USDA specifications knowledge and application
- Inventory analysis
