Job Description
An employment opportunity for a highly skilled Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EIC) technician. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced levels of team leadership and technical skills with minimal direction. This individual will support and maintain plant electrical, controls and instrumentation systems and will have the aptitude to operate equipment and machinery safely while meeting all quality and production expectations. The successful candidate will be expected to work on any shift based on the team’s shift rotation schedule.
Support Areas (SQDPCM):
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Be the first line of defense for troubleshooting and keeping the operation running at maximum capacity. • Support the plant performance systems, GMP, Loss Analysis, Store Room and Purchasing Procedures, Change Control, etc.) • Support the facility’s automated data acquisition systems • Provide on-going support for evolving machine controls needs and provide the daily support required to maintain the manufacturing systems by maintaining, troubleshooting and modifying/editing EIC systems, technologies, and documentation.
Experience/abilities • Power Distribution Systems up to and including 480VAC with working knowledge of the N.E.C. and strong experience with basic electrical tools (Meggers, Amp meters, Volt meters, conduit tools, etc.) • Utilities, Process, and Machine Controls systems: o PLC-5, SLC-500, ControlLogix 5000 o Communication Networks (DH+, Controlnet, Devicenet, Ethernet) o Allen Bradley 1336, Power Flex series motor controls, Pacific Scientific/Indramat Servo Controls or equivalent • Operator Interface Systems o Wonderware HMI and PanelView HMI or equivalent • Instrumentation o Experienced in the calibration of flow, pressure, level, and temperature instruments. o Capable of supporting basic board level electronic system repairs (i.e. troubleshoot to the board level and replace boards as necessary)
Selection Criteria: • Excellent verbal and writing skills in English are a must. Bi-lingual skills (English / Spanish) are a plus. • Personal computer skills are required (Microsoft Office products) • Driven to stay current with new technology via trade magazines, appropriate vendor schools, and local equipment displays. • Desire to ensure training/ technical training for self occurs in administration, coordination, people skills, and budget tracking for costs in your area. • Travel as needed and be able to qualify for a Company supplied credit card. • Schedule flexibility, weekends and on call when needed. • Strong problem solving skills required • Work well under pressure, High energy level, Self starter
