Job Description
-Redesign products and processes that drive improved product consistency through variation reduction. This position will also act as a liaison between R&D and manufacturing by supporting both manufacturing initiatives and R&D development projects. -Designs tests using statistical methods with physical and chemical sciences to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control quality issues. -Analyzes processes with tools such as value mapping time studies, the scientific method, mass flows, design of experiments, and predictive models to discover issues and define root causes. -Manages improvement projects; updates process specifications; recommends changes for formulas, ingredient specs and finished product specs; communicates test results through reports and presentations. -Leverage partnerships with ingredient suppliers and equipment manufacturers to reduce variation. -Support plant initiatives. -Provides technical assistance in CI process and problem solving. -Implements SPC and identifies opportunities to move control and decision points based on applied scientific principles. -Support R&D product developers. -Evaluates the capability and control measures for new products during plant trials and startup. Runs and supports plant testing as needed. -Manages projects that qualify new ingredients, formulas, or processes as needed.
