Job Description
Fast growing small entrepreneurial company is looking for a supply chain expert!

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years consumer product purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement practices including supplier selection, negotiations, vendor relationships, inventory cost savings, and execution of purchase orders.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry including warehousing, inventory control, buying, accounting, distribution, and total cost of acquisition analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly entrepreneurial company where a strong sense of urgency is essential.
  • High capacity for strategic thinking and operational delivery/execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Purchasing/Inventory Department consisting of 2 direct reports.
  • Responsible for all aspects of purchase orders; creation, approval, and vendor follow up.
  • Identify gaps in supply chain and internal systems and create procedures that result in improved in-stocks and inventory levels.
  • Source supplies by identifying new vendors and negotiating best value.
  • Develop relationships and execute negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best price and delivery.
  • Develop and communicate sourcing project timelines.
  • Daily interaction with suppliers to expedite materials if required.
  • Correspond with freight forwarders on imported components and products.
  • Partner with Marketing on new product development.
  • Coordinate with Sales personnel for promotions and large initial plus out orders.
  • Update forecast schedules to determine order quantities and timing.
  • Maintain and update vendor and item specific data.
  • Assign part numbers and bar codes for new items.
  • Identify the inventory to be cycle counted and adjust as necessary.
  • Involvement with planning and execution of annual inventory.

Location: CA

Salary: $60K to $80K
