PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Manage existing accounts and develop new business, consistent with program objectives. Ensure that sales building goals are achieved to support long term growth.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Responsible for achievement of targeted volume and revenue for the operation.
2. Develop incremental business and new products with existing accounts.
3. Expand customer/revenue base for designated region.
4. Work with the Product Coordination Group to develop whole product (DC) business.
5. Work with customers to achieve cost-efficient logistics and distribution of products.
6. Manage the Sales operating budget to remain within targeted numbers.
7. Coordinate with the FOB Sales group to ensure cost effective and professional management of the customer base and sales region.
8. Support administrative functions related to sales activities within the facility.
9. Work closely with the General Manager to promote Del Monte's full product line.
10. Work with the Marketing Department to promote Del Monte's product effectively in your region.
11. Review market trends, pricing and competition on a regular basis.
12. Responsible for all expos.
13. Partner with the Accounts Receivable group to ensure all customer accounts are up-to-date and within company terms.
14. Responsible for Accounts Receivable on sales.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM:
1. 3+ years fresh produce sales experience (Large retailers, wholesalers, food service and small independent and cash customers)
2. Knowledge of transportation industry and how it relates to produce
3. Previous management or supervisory experience
4. Self-directed, motivated individual with a team player mentality
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
1. Previous warehouse and inventory control experience
2. Bilingual: English/Spanish
3. Good understanding of Fresh-Cut production and DC operations
