Position Summary:Responsible for providing legal counsel on matters relating to regulatory compliance of Clorox's operations and products with EPA, FDA and other applicable regulatory authorities. The position will also provide legal counseling on environmental, health and safety matters, working closely with the company's environmental engineers on permitting issues, general compliance, release response and remediation efforts. The position will be responsible for efficiently managing outside counsel on environmental and regulatory matters. The position will also be responsible to assisting in other matters, potentially including counseling on antitrust and real estate.
Required Qualifications: 5 - 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney; In-house experience and knowledge of a specialized legal area strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Regulatory compliance experience with FDCA and/or FIFRA strongly preferred.
Environmental, health and safety compliance experience, focusing on Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act preferred. Experience with OSHA, Prop 65, TSCA, and CERCLA a plus.
Ability to take responsibility for legal matters for assigned business unit and/or function, under the oversight of more senior attorneys.
Broad range of relevant legal experience, the ability to identify, prioritize and resolve critical legal issues in real time.
Ability to identify and use the most efficient and effective legal resources to complete the work in a timely and cost effective manner.
Unquestioned personal integrity; seen as a role model for ethical principles and values of the Company and practices required by law.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a matrixed organization and interact with and command respect from Company employees.
Excellent judgment, communication and listening skills.

Some travel may be required.
Strong PC skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
JD degree; top tier undergraduate and law schools a plus
Master's degree or other certification may be required
Member of the California State Bar, or having the qualifications, willingness to sit for the California bar exam.
