Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager leads Maintenance Group to safely achieve higher levels of production output and equipment availability. She/he will achieve the highest possible level of planned maintenance activities. She/he will Implement and improve the existing Maintenance Management System. Actively pursues world class maintenance status.
Position Responsibility:
Assures any/all maintenance activities are completed in a safe manner. Assures maintenance work meets any and all criteria to protect the workforce.
Manage, support and develop supervisors and planners who report to this position.
Supplements with Bargaining Unit cooperation onsite resources with outside contractors
Manages and develops maintenance budgets.
Takes needed actions to assure the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance. Develops and maintains SOP’s for maintenance.
Develops and/or coordinates ongoing training programs for maintenance employees.
Collects and prepares information for use in discussions and meetings with executive staff members and outside individuals.
Job Requirements:
Excellent understanding and record of accomplishment in assuring safe procedures and safe work practices in maintenance.
A broad understanding of structural, electrical and mechanical engineering concepts as they relate to plant maintenance
Knowledge of the various crafts, methods, tools and technologies needed to perform maintenance work.
Experience in developing a maintenance organization utilizing TPM, MMS, Lean Manufacturing Principles and employee development.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment in improvement of equipment reliability and availability.
Support of demand maintenance, continuous improvement and capital projects.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
This position requires the equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering.
A minimum of 8-10 years related experience.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
