Job Description
General Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor contributes to The Pepsi Bottling Group’s success by ensuring the overall quality of ingredients and finished products in accordance with PBG Standards so as to uphold trademark integrity. Additionally, this person provides maintenance supervision in a manufacturing plant. This individual must set quality assurance standards and align the organization to achieve these standards. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for managing approximately 15 non-union employees and is required to work 3rd shift.

Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides technical and process knowledge for water treatment/waste water, product batching, product testing, package testing and supplier capability
  • Maintains Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to micro/sanitation, and pest control chemicals
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of production equipment (processing and packaging equipment) and its’ related impact on overall quality
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of process improvements and technical developments
  • Understands and trains others in product characteristics, attributes and Quality Control testing procedures
  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for both management and front-line hourly personnel
  • Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety regulations
  • Tracks standard manufacturing measures and prioritizes plant maintenance opportunities
  • Sets maintenance technician and quality control technician performance standards providing coaching and feedback to build capability
  • Oversees and assures facility equipment reliability to minimize downtime
  • Manages package and flavor changeover process to ensure efficiency and continuous improvement

Basic Job Qualifications:

  • Associates degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a Quality Control department of a high speed manufacturing environment required
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a management position with direct supervision responsibilities


Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science
  • Consumer packaged goods experience
