Job Description
This position will be responsible to:
  • Directs monitors and assists sanitation employees as they clean equipment to ensure proper sanitation.
  • Performs inspections of plant, equipment and parts for cleanliness.
  • Supervises employees by hiring, scheduling work assignments, evaluating performance, and terminating when needed.
  • Train and guide sanitation personnel in the correct safety and cleaning methods.
  • Prepares reports on inspection findings and accidents.
  • Maintain SSOP documentation for all cleaning tasks
  • Participate in 3rd party audits
  • Maintain inventories of sanitation supplies and purchase additional supplies when needed.
  • Keeps spending for both wages and sanitation supplies within an allotted budget
  • Willing and able to physically work alongside the sanitation crew to complete all cleaning and sanitizing tasks for a timely production start-up.
  • Must become familiar with all Sanitation SOPs and MSS.
  • Author new procedures and documentation as needed.
  • Update and implement current procedural documents as required.
  • Able to trouble shoot microbiologically compromised situations or conditions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Food Science or related field, two or more years experience performing similar work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical concepts and/or mechanical background.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures, and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Skills in identifying sanitation problems and working with sanitizing equipment.
  • Able to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) a strong plus.
