Cargill currently has an exciting opportunity for an In House Generalist Lawyer located at the corporate offices of Cargill Meat Solutions in Wichita, Kansas. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel to the Cargill Meat Solutions businesses. This lawyer will be a part of the Worldwide Cargill Law department, will work closely with our paralegals, and will report to the Vice President, Law for Cargill Meat Solutions. Principal job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing legal advice to Cargill businesses on a variety of issues, including transactional matters such as product sale and purchase agreements, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, and other contractual matters; compliance matters involving various federal and state law issues; and real estate and property issues; Managing litigation relating to Cargill’s businesses on matters such as commercial litigation, product liability, personal injury claims, and government enforcement actions, including budgeting and managing outside litigation counsel; Practicing preventive law, including providing advice as well as training and education in areas such as antitrust law, regulatory compliance, contracting, corporate structuring, as well as assisting Cargill businesses on compliance with various company policies and procedures; and Collaborating with other members of the Worldwide Cargill Law department to provide legal advice in certain specialized areas such as environmental, employment and labor law, and intellectual property.

Qualifications Qualified candidates will have: J.D. degree with strong academic credentials (top 25% of law school class preferred) Up to 10 years of experience as a licensed attorney Excellent communication, drafting and interpersonal skills High level of personal responsibility and accountability for projects, and ability to work independently Ability to travel occasionally
