Cargill Meat Solutions has an opportunity available for a Transportation Services Manager in Wichita, KS. This position will provide leadership to the areas of Transportation Management System, Transportation Customer Service, and Carrier Freight Claims, as well as shared responsibility for Routing Functions. The successful candidate will be a member of the CMS Transportation Leadership Team reporting directly to the VP of Transportation & Logistics. This position will directly and indirectly manage a team of professionals and associates responsible for the execution of Supply Chain strategies. Principle Accountabilities: Transportation Management System (TMS) Management (30%) -Manage TMS Implementation and Strategic Direction -Provide Leadership to the I/T and Business Teams Involved in Implementation -Provide Measurements & Direction to Ensure the Delivery of Value Through TMS Utilization -Ensure Processes and Resources are in place to Ensure On-Going Support to all TMS Stake Holders Transportation Customer Service Management (25%) -Provide Oversight and Leadership to the Transportation Customer Service Functions -Accountability for the Development and Delivery of Meaningful Measurements including Carrier Value Assessments, Scorecards, On-Time Delivery Results Carrier Freight Claims Management (25%) -Provide Oversight and Leadership to the Carrier Freight Claims Process -Accountability for Investigation, Liability Determination, Collection -Establish Policy & Procedure which Promotes Prevention of Claims and Reduction of Losses Routing Function Leadership (20%) -Collaborate with Business Units to Develop a Plan for Shared Accountability & Management -Provide Leadership in the Development & Utilization of Tools to Support & Ensure Value Creation
Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum 6-8 years Transportation & Logistics Related Experience Minimum 3 years Supervisory Experience Ability to Collaborate Effectively Across Organizational Boundaries Excellent Interpersonal and Communication (written and verbal) Skills Demonstrated Ability to Analyze Complex Situations and Make Sound Decisions Promptly Previous Experience in Project Management & Leadership Skilled in Negotiation and Contract Management Desired Qualifications: Meat Industry (Retail and Food Service) Specific Knowledge Sterling TMS Experience Knowledge of Transportation Regulations & Governing Laws Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP Bachelors Degree (preferably in Transportation & Logistics or Supply Chain Mgmt Related Field)
