Job Description

CMS has processing facilities and sales offices in the US, Canada, and Australia, and international business offices in Australia, China, Honduras, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Cargill Value Added Meats has an opportunity for an Accountant in Springdale, Arkansas. General accounting and reporting responsibilities including P&L close, product costing, assist in budget preparation, Balance Sheet reconciliation, ensuring adequate internal controls and management reporting. Principle Accountabilities: Provide management with accurate financial statements consistent with company policy. Prepare budget/standards vs. actual reports. Assist in management of product costs, budgets, asset inventories, etc. Assist in ensuring there are sound internal control systems in place for the business unit. Complete special projects as necessary. Examples would include new corporate initiatives (internal audits for example), analysis of product/line costs, capital spending project analysis, etc. Effectively model all PMP behavioral competencies.
Qualifications University (4 year) degree in Accounting of finance preferred. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to internal control. Customer and quality focus. Strong communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with many functional groups and levels. Able to proactively identify and resolve problems. Demonstrated flexibility; able to deal with ambiguity.
