We invite applications for the position of Operations Manager at our greenfield site in Emporia, KS. As an Operations Manager for Hill’s Pet Nutrition, you will be responsible for the effective leadership of all aspects of the production operations for the plant. The primary accountabilities for Operations Manager include daily production reliability, customer service, quality and food safety, area financial performance, EOHS, organization development, and people development. In addition, this role will lead and guide operations coordinating team leaders in the development and implementation of the plant strategy and attainment of plant Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
Responsibilities for this position include: Functions as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team Leads enrollment of the plant in the Emporia Plant Vision Ensures decision making processes are consistent with guiding principles Lead the Operations Team to deliver targeted customer service, productivity, financial performance, quality and food safety standards, and EOHS KPI's. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement initiatives to improve all plant KPIs. Prepare and manage operating budgets for variable and fixed overheads for the Operations Team. Responsible for the daily production operations of the plant and all its components. Ensures the development of people, teams, and organization capabilities. Accountable for ensuring compliance with CP/ Hills, local, state, and federal standards and guidelines related to EOHS, Quality, and Regulatory.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: B.A. /B.S. degree in Operations Management, Business, Technical field or equivalent., (MBA preferred) Minimum of 8 years progressive management experience in: quality planning, purchasing, customer service and logistics production supervision, Ability to travel domestically up to 10% Must be proficient with computer to include Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, email and SAP (preferred)
