Current Employment Opportunity in our Land O’ Lakes in Arden Hills, MN Senior Manager of Quality Assurance – Microbiology and Food Safety

Position Purpose: Provides microbiological support for LOL in the areas of food safety and risk analysis, HACCP, alternative test procedures, specification development for ingredients, sanitation, in-process and finished product. Provides guidance and expertise in all phases of microbiological affairs to the Business Units and is ultimately responsible to understand, communicate and manage microbiological risk through the specification and Design Hazard Analysis process. Percentage of travel: 20%

Required (Basic) Education/Experience: BS/BA degree in Microbiology, Food Microbiology , or related technical field (MS preferred). Minimum of 10 years of technical and management experience in food safety, quality assurance, and food analysis with plant experience required. Experience must include knowledge of State, FDA and USDA regulations, USDA – AMS/Dairy guidelines, microbiological and chemical analysis of foods, HACCP, GMPs, ISO 22000 and quality systems. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and team interaction skills. Highly motivated, self-directed and a self starter.

Preferred Education/Experience: Master of Science in Food / Dairy Microbiology. Dairy plant experience. Multi plant responsibility. Auditing expertise. Program development, procedure writing and implementation. Teaching experience.
