Cargill Meat Solutions in High River, Alberta has an opportunity available for a 2nd Shift Hides/Yards Supervisor. This position is responsible for day-to-day management of operations in the yards and hide room. This includes being responsible for proper animal handling & welfare, grading of hides, employee safety, environmental, costs, and unionized production employees.
Principle Accountabilities:
Day-to-day supervision and development of department employees (coaching, etc.)
Day-to-day supervision of animal handling practices, incoming cattle, segregation & tracking, cleanliness of pens, ensuring constant cattle flow through to kill floor, etc.
Day-to-day supervision of hide room processes eg, fleshing, grading, etc
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

Qualifications Previous Supervisory experience would be an asset. Previous experience working with live cattle. Basic knowledge of Humane Animal Handling Practices, Cargill Safety, and Environmental regulations. Demonstrated skills of team building, conflict resolution, innovation and change within the work force Effective communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills at multiple levels of Cargill and customer organizations
