Job Description
Ben & Jerry's makes and sells all-natural super premium ice cream, frozen yogurt, and ice cream novelties. SUMMARY: This position is responsible for driving the continual discovery of brand-relevant consumer and market insight to infuse a deep understanding of consumers into the new products, brand marketing, and retail scoop shop teams for application in brand strategy, brand communication, innovation and marketing initiatives that help drive Ben & Jerry’s growth in the marketplace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Drive to deeper consumer understanding to create compelling, differentiated brand positioning that provide a clear and inspiring focus for everything the brand does • Become the indispensable partner with Brand Development managers to identify new product/innovation and brand communication opportunities • Lead insight and idea brainstorming for brand teams • Manage primary consumer research projects, both qualitative and quantitative, for assigned brands. This research will span consumer attitudes and usage, advertising development and copy testing, new product concept development and new product evaluation, consumer segmentation, and ethnography • Identify future trends, new developments, brand performance and positioning to be used in strategic planning and decision-making. • Synthesize primary and secondary research to guide brand decision making. Inspire research suppliers to consistently deliver their best efforts…deliver actionable, clear, value-added understanding. • Monitor brand performance globally across channels. • Present research insights to the Senior Management team, Marketing department, and others in the company as needed.

Train Marketing or other staff in the use of all available analytical software, tools and standard reports.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills & Competencies • Strong consumer curiosity and passion for insights • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills • Entrepreneurial drive • Demonstrated analytical power/skills • Ability to think holistically about business issues • Strong market research project management skills • Broader CPG business perspective

Experience: Demonstrated high performance, 3+ years of relevant consumer/market research (concept tests, product tests, tracking, copy testing, brand image, etc.) CPG consumer/market research experience required, food experience preferred.

Education: Undergraduate degree Advanced degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, or Social Science preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: None

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment, some repetitive motion required.

Some travel required - approximately 20% of the time
