Unilever is seeking to recruit supply chain managers of the future. To facilitate development into management roles, employees will receive a variety of work assignments and exposure to multiple aspects of our supply chain operations. Our goal is to expose potential future Supply Chain Leaders to a multitude of leadership roles and present them with the opportunities which will develop a significant breadth of experience, ultimately preparing the individual for future managerial roles.

OUR NEW CENTURY KANSAS LOCATION

Our New Century, KS facility is located between the Kansas City suburbs of Olathe and Gardner, just minutes from downtown Kansas City, the Kansas City International Airport, Kansas City Chiefs and Royal’s sports complex, and many modern and growing city amenities. The facility produces Country Crock, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Imperial, and Promise brand spreads and margarines. Operating on a 5/24 schedule, the facility is one of Unilever’s largest and most complex.

We are currently seeking to fill an open Continuous Improvement Engineer position. We are looking for future leaders! We offer a full-time rotational development program designed to provide employees with hands-on experience in various Supply Chain sub-processes over the course of the next 3-5 years. Employees will be recruited to work in developmental assignments in our manufacturing plant in a technical Supply Chain capacity. Future assignments may include Project Engineering; Warehousing; Supply Management; Maintenance/TPM Leadership & Supervision; Quality Assurance; and Logistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

The individual selected for this role will be responsible assisting in the implementation of a new, robust Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) program with the objective of pursuing a TPM Level 1 award status. Experience with Continuous Improvement programs, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is highly desired. The individual must have an engineering background in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering. One to five years in an industrial manufacturing facility is desired. Food experience is preferred.

The individual performing this assignment will: Be responsible to? support and implement the TPM process in our facility by supporting activities to eliminate losses within our manufacturing process. Support TPM training? and educate plant personnel during the process and lead them through change. Influence and obtain commitment from all levels of the plant for the TPM? program implementation. Assist with the creation of a TPM roadmap and help? deploy it in the plant. Lead and train TPM improvement teams such as? Focused Improvement and Autonomous Maintenance teams. Coach department? managers and supervisors on integration of TPM tools such as creating/maintaining different pillar groups and the interaction between each. Maintain plant and pillar performance metrics consistent with TPM? methodologies. Utilize strong engineering skills to find and correct? underlying issues during Root Cause Analysis and Breakdown Elimination efforts. Manage projects that will deliver strong results aimed at improving? machine and plant efficiencies. Possess strong analytical skills to? interpret information to make Data Driven Decisions. Develop and/or? execute effective training plans to further develop team members’ skills and knowledge to achieve proper execution of OJT and operating procedures. ? Maintain open communications and share important plant information to all team members. Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities to? reduce manufacturing costs in the production areas. Perform other duties? as assigned.

Successful candidate must demonstrate superb leadership skills, be a catalyst for change, demonstrate a history of meeting and exceeding goals and objectives, superior problem solving and engineering skills, creative thinking, and an ability to hold their direct reports accountable for Safety, Quality, GMP, and performance standards.

The successful candidate must also be able to work well with peers and in team environment. Able to communicate pertinent information to ensure that production operation runs safely and efficiently on all shifts. Must be confident and have ability to drive change, lead by example, demonstrate managerial courage, and engage direct reports.
