7+ years of demonstrated success in a HR management role with recent manufacturing experience. Bachelors Degree, Advanced Degree Preferred

Working with the Senior Management of our Independence, MO facility, develops and implements HR strategies and provides HR support for approx. 300 employees, both salaried and hourly. Provides counsel and solutions in the areas of management development, employee relations, union/management relations, compensation, resourcing, organization change & development, and training. Proactively assesses the internal / external market for HR trends that may impact business and provides strategic input to management. This position will also lead multiple projects, both locally and across our Business. This position leads a team of 1 direct report.
It is critical that the candidate has had recent in-depth labor/management experience in a unionized manufacturing facility focusing on complex collective bargaining issues and contract administration. This is a hands-on role requiring extensive interface with unionized workforce issues, and union representatives.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft preferred.
Responsibilities:
As the local HR Lead, develop HR plans that help deliver the short and long term strategic needs of the Independence facility.
Lead workplace investigations and document findings
Provide direct report with direction and performance feedback
Oversee administration of outsourced HR functions
Interpret collective bargaining agreement and provide guidance to management
Represent Company on Labor Management Committee
Prepare for collective bargaining by gathering data
Keep direct reporting manager up-to-date on significant HR issues affecting the plant.
Facilitate Business and HR collaboration on issues affecting the performance of the Business, the leadership team, the people and the culture.
Provide accurate and timely feedback to managers and supervisors.
Work in conjunction with Line Managers and at times outsourced recruiting function on development of resourcing strategy and delivery of internal / external recruitment process.
Provide counsel to employees and business on a variety of employee relations issues including performance management, HR policies, legal issues, grievance processing.
Advise business on Performance Development Planning, Standards of Leadership, career development/planning, succession planning, etc.
Support business in administration of remuneration systems (Work Levels, Salary administration, Incentive Programs, etc.) as well as ongoing counsel on issues. Deep understanding of the local environment is necessary.
Facilitate various meeting forums, including process improvement, team building activities, and group discussions.
Deliver training where required for new programs, and assist in roll-out of company communications and initiatives.
