Position Summary: This Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for preparing and managing the departmental budget, coordinating maintenance activities and equipment upgrades. The Supervisor will also administer all company contracts, policies and procedures as well as act as a coach, facilitator and mentor to successfully transform the shift’s 40+ employees from a traditional work place to a High Performance Work System. Finally, this position establishes and maintains operational measurements that demonstrate continuous improvement, and directs efforts to significantly improve service levels, profitability margins, efficiencies and cost saving initiatives. Major Responsibilities: Manage the overall operations (receiving, storage and shipping) of over 800,000 square feet of refrigerated and ambient warehousing through which 120 million cases are moved annually.
Provide leadership to Administrative coordinators, approximately 5 hourly leads and 40+ hourly personnel. The operation must consistently meet the demand of shipping and warehousing over 9,000,000 cases per month.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews and annual performance appraisals of direct reports to facilitate their development and provide timely feedback and guidance to obtain business objectives and individual career goals. Directly link that process to the maximization of the department's objectives related to quality, safety, and quality of job life, diversity and productivity.
Facilitate the development of Leads through documented expectations, coaching, training, and quarterly feedback sessions.
Manage internal and external customer relationships, seek feedback and provide solutions to customer needs, give high priority to customer satisfaction.
Bring new production capacity on line. Facilitate the trouble shooting process for start up issues so as to maximize efficiency in the least amount of time.
Monitor product quality to ensure it meets company standards.
Improve reliability and operating efficiencies of warehousing and shipping operations.
Initiate and manage cost reduction/cost control initiatives.
Manage departmental labor relations (union) issues, staffing requirements, and all other company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Must be available to work all shifts and a minimum of 5 days per week.
Bachelor Degree in Business Management or related field required.
5-7 years experience in warehousing and shipping as a manager/supervisor and 1-3 years of packaging production experience required.
3-5 years stock locator experience and working with RF equipment.
Must understand FIFO (First in, First out) concept.
