Minimum of 3 years Quality Supervision in a Food or Beverage processing and packaging plant Knowledge and understanding of Sanitation programsQualified as a laboratory technician with ability to calibrate basic lab equipment Knowledge of Kosher Certification requirements preferredKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and current Food Safety issuesExperience with AIB
Duties:
Primary responsibility for a food production facility overseeing the quality and safety of raw materials and finished product. Key accountabilities include the development, implementation and coordination of Quality Assurance and Food Safety/Sanitation programs at the plant level. Goals include preventing or eliminating defects in products and meeting or exceeding the requirements of customers and regulatory agencies. This position will interact with customers both internal and external on a continual basis.
- Oversee the laboratory activities at the local mfg plant, including scheduling of personnel to ensure adequate coverage of the business, training, hiring, budgeting, and technician role enhancement.
Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information regarding product quality and performance, manufacturing problems and any procedural changes for consideration by other members of plant management.Ensure compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety/Sanitation Programs. Key interface with manufacturing management and sales on all quality and food safety/sanitation related issues. Establish, enhance and reinforce Quality Management System and support initiatives that are in place to ensure quality and food safety. Verify proper QA and Sensory procedures are in place to ensure top quality products are produced in both our traditional and flavored pasta product. Assists in the Quality Training program for employees that educates in the areas of customer expectations, Quality Systems (including HACCP), individual accountability and product defect recognition. Manage all documentation related to food safety and audit protocolOversee budgeting and spending activities in all QA related accounts Manage all associated activities involving customer complaints including: Problem identification, Product isolation, Deliver feedback to appropriate Team Members and Managers on all complaints affecting plant performance and customer satisfactionAdminister the local quality hold program, including timely disposition of held product. Assist in the maintenance of the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) program for the Processing and Packaging functions
