Cargill Meat Solutions is looking for a Production Planner. The successful candidate will oversee the supply management and production planning for tray pack beef and pork and fresh and frozen ground beef. Principle Accountabilities: Development of production plans & schedules that meet with Sales, Capacity, Transportation, and Warehouse/Distribution requirements. Develop intermediate and long-term production plans, working closely with Account Manager and Production personnel. Plans inventory control levels that satisfy the customer service levels, while minimizing production, transportation, and warehousing costs. Review weekly sales, raw material, and finished goo inventory data and advises sales & distribution personnel of unexpected by-products or inventory balances. Responsibilities and Duties:
50% - Leads Operations & Distribution requirements planning to establish, monitor, and communicate short & long-term capacity constraints. Works closely & directly with Operations team to convey and solve issues. Key team member in day-to-day and week-to-week management decisions. 20% - Manages Production Scheduler and develops daily scheduling processes via communication interaction. 15% - Compiles and leads actions to deliver daily service summary reports and update customer/team scorecards. 15% - Reviews and communicates daily inventory levels to ensure service to the customer while minimizing carrying costs to convey and solve issues.
Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Meat Science or related field. 4-6 years of meat industry experience Previous experience in supply chain, plant operations, sales or key account management. In depth knowledge of plant customer base and product requirements. General knowledge of plant operations parameters and key facility constraints. Current knowledge and ability within XLGO/Prism operating systems and Plant Floor inventory systems. Analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel Must be able to cope in a fast pace demanding environment
