Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Direct the sanitation program for company including daily sanitation tasks and cleaning procedures; recommend the frequency and scheduling of sanitation tasks.

2. Manage the development, validation, updating, and monitoring of Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and CIP program for the facility.

3. Manage the day-to-day activities of the micro lab and assist with supervising lab technician personnel; act as the general liaison or spokesperson for the micro lab.

4. Monitor facility cleanliness and sanitation and take corrective action on deficiencies in accordance with the Pathogen Monitoring Program; analyze monitoring data and manage the facility's change of control level as defined in the Pathogen Monitoring Program.

5. Direct Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) auditing and training activities.

6. Order consumables for factory including cleaning items and specific items for Effluent and Micro Lab; act as point of contact for vendor-supplied janitorial and uniform cleaning services including soliciting and contracting vendors.

7. Oversee pest control functions; supervise staff and work cooperatively with vendors to improve pest control program and activities.

8. Act as team leader for the facility's Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program; function as the point of contact between copmany -and Corporate for all hygiene, sanitation and food safety activities.

9. Monitor and establish vendor-provided calibration procedures and activities for Pasteurization Critical Control Point (CCP).

10. Manage the cleaning, updates, and associate training for the Nilfisk vacuum program.

11. Participate in company environmental continuous improvement initiatives by seeking out and employing increased resource efficiency opportunities; promote and participate in waste conservation/management efforts (pollution prevention and recycling).

12. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: * B.S. Food Science, Microbiology, or related field * Firm understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes. * Thorough knowledge of QA monitoring, auditing, and inspection protocols and systems. * Knowledge of lab operations, equipment, and tests and testing protocols. * Working knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to food processing/manufacturing.

EXPERIENCE: * Experience with QA monitoring, auditing, and inspection protocols and systems. * Experience working in a laboratory environment desired.
