Our New Century, KS facility (just south of Olathe) produces Country Crock, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Imperial and Promise brands spreads has an opening for an Associate Lab Tech on 2nd shift.
Responsibilities include ensuring consistent quality in our products. Protecting our brands and reputation by making sure that all our products are manufactured according to our corporate and FDA standards. Protecting consumer safety by making sure we operate under Good Manufacturing Practices. Interfacing with Production to function as a technical resource to interpret corporate procedures. Assisting in trouble shooting and production improvement investigations, as well as implementation of corrective actions applied. Assisting R&D in development trials when needed. Product specification controls: analyze product moisture, salt, pH and sorbate presence and make adjustments as necessary - 65% Packaging quality control: appearance, fill, code dates. Make sure necessary corrections are made - 10% Weights control: Make sure product weights are at proper level. Make sure operators are filling out daily weight check properly - 10% Product Hold control: when necessary, place product on Hold. Do any necessary rechecks and make sure Hold log is up to date - 5% Microbiological testing: Collect and plate samples. Make and sterilized culture solutions. Report results and perform follow-up product Holds as necessary - 5% Be involved in TPM Focus Improvement pillar and Quality Maintenance pillar teams to work on continuous improvement projects - 5%
Expected hours are to be 2nd shift 2:30 to 11:00 pm. During vacations, illness, production volumes etc., hours can change and include overtime including weekends.
