OUR NEW CENTURY, KANSAS LOCATION Our New Century, KS facility is located between the Kansas City suburbs of Olathe and Gardner, just minutes from downtown Kansas City, the Kansas City International Airport, Kansas City Chiefs and Royal’s sports complex, and many modern and growing city amenities. The facility produces Country Crock, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Imperial, and Promise brand spreads and margarines. Operating on a 5/24 schedule, the facility is one of the largest and most complex in all of Unilever. ELECTRICAN Job Tasks: • Extensive knowledge of PLC programming to troubleshoot, repair, change, and create programs. • Repair, replace, adjust, and aligns components of machinery and equipment. Note: strong mechanical skills. • Clean and lubricate parts, equipment, and machinery. • Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment as needed. • Observe electrical and mechanical devices/systems in operation to locate causes of trouble. • Repair and replace defective parts. • Service and repair plant facilities equipment such as air compressors, heat exchangers, boilers and ammonia refrigeration equipment. • Stick or tig weld to repair broken metal parts. • Adjust and test machinery.
Required Knowledge: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Also, know 3 phase electrical, and AC and DC controls. Skills Required : • Equipment Maintenance – Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. • Troubleshooting – Determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it. • Ability to make decisions and solve problems • Be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers. • Work under pressure to fix equipment quickly because breakdowns usually stop or slow production. • Knows, understands, and applies safe work practices, including lock-out / tag-out, confined space entry, as well as safety practices relevant to mechanical skill sets. • Reads and understands electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics as well as mechanical drawings. • Ability to work in a self-directed fashion.

The successful candidate must be able to work well with peers and in team environment. Able to communicate pertinent information to ensure that production operation runs safely and efficiently on all shifts. Must be confident and have ability to drive change, lead by example, demonstrate courage, and engage direct reports.
