Job Description
This position directs and controls all facility functions to assure that Division and North American Food Group standards are delivered.

The West Memphis facility is located just across the Mississippi River from Memphis, Tennessee, and provides Consumer Packaged Goods companies, Foodservice, National Account, and Industrial customers throughout the U.S. and Canada a variety of USDA bagged meal blends that include sauce, protein, carbohydrate, and vegetables, as well as a variety of enrobed IQF vegetables in bags

The various functions undertaken by this position include the selection and training of 20 salaried personnel, management and direction of an hourly labor force that varies from 100 to 200 hourly employees on 3 shifts, budget preparation, product costing, receipt of WIP product and factory supplies, control of the packaging operation, risk management, labor relations, community involvement, facility maintenance, upkeep of physical assets, capital and operations improvements, cost control, continuous improvement, customer relations, new product trials and management of the third party warehouse relationship.

Position Responsibilities: 1. Direct the operation to assure the facility achieves the required volume, grade, yield, cost and quality as set forth in each area by the Division's planning process. 2. Direct the production operation and quality assurance function to assure food safety, Company and regulatory requirements are met. 3. Direct the plant accounting and cost control function and monitor expenses to assure attainment of budget. 4. Structure the plant organization, select key personnel and develop and motivate subordinates to assure short and long term competent staff performance and management continuity. 5. Direct the Loss Control program to reduce personal injury accidents and other losses to the Company. 6. Direct plant facilities maintenance in a cost effective manner and capital expenditure budget to provide maximum return on capital investment. 7. Develop and maintain a desirable public and employee relationship in the community to assure a favorable Company image. 8. Ensure that the Plant Policies, Procedures and Corporate requirements are administered and followed in a fair and consistent manner. 9. Ensure the interface with other support groups is conducted in a manner that is conducive with the corporate, division and operations goals. 10. Conduct oneself in a professional manner and ensure personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the Company. 11. Ensure that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and Divisional standards.

This position requires: A Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year College or university, and 10+ years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirement.

The following are also desirable experiences: Vegetable and USDA bagged meals processing experience, high speed packaging operations experience, strong employee relationship skills, mathematical, verbal and written communication skills, Human Relations Skills, leadership, coaching, participative Management Style, performance management, strong planning, organizing, directing, goal setting, and decision making skills, the ability to develop subordinates, and strong presentation skills.

This position requires the flexibility to work any days and shifts as necessary to support a 24/7 operation. This position reports to the Vice President, Specialty Division.

The following positions report to the Packaging Plant Manager: 1) Shift Managers: This position is accountable for the processing, packaging and shipping of finished product, food safety and risk management. Through coordination of these functions, this position is charged with accomplishing the production plan at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements. 2) Quality Assurance Manager: This position is accountable for in-process and finished product quality systems to assure that finished product meets the established specifications and for inspecting plant and production facilities to ensure food safety and sanitation practices are in compliance with Company, Federal and State regulations. 3) Human Resource Manager: This position is accountable for administering personnel policies and procedure at the operations level, including the recruitment of personnel, maintaining non-Union operations, risk management, employee and labor relations, fringe benefits programs, training and the maintenance of personnel records and systems. This position is also accountable for assuring that plant personnel procedures are in compliance with Federal, State laws and regulations and established policies. 5) Engineering/Maintenance Manager: This position is accountable for the repair and maintenance of all equipment, buildings and grounds. This position evaluates, recommends and specifies new equipment, prepares and administers the capital program, energy conservation program and coordinates the installation and maintenance of equipment to assure that the plant is operational. This position is also responsible for the OSHA 300 compliance and the coordination of all Safety activities at the facility. The Manager's organization includes a direct report that oversees the Employee Safety committee, accident investigations, organization and communication of all site accidents and near miss accidents, and recommends to management opportunities to reduce accidents at the Pasco plant site. 6) Procurement Warehouse Supervisor: This position manages and creates requisitions and purchase orders, his runs reports in JDE. This position manages AP Stellent for four plants, orders bulk ingredients for production, seasonings and packaging. This position manages RND reports on a monthly basis, manages warehouse personnel, inventory clerks, stock transfers and yields. 7) Master Scheduler: This position scrutinizes inventory for availability of ingredients, monitors aged ingredients and hold goods. The position creates pre-blend items for production, manages compliance issues with allergens, and builds history of line rates. This position additionally manages the MRM monthly report and monitors daily scheduled pull tickets for Americold Logistics. 8) Cost Accountant: This position provides costing information and variance reporting from daily production runs to the Shift Managers, is responsible for the budget preparation and monthly variance tracking and reporting, reviews and submits Capital requests, and tracks the overall plant financial performance.
