Design Group Seeks Experienced Project Engineer
Project Engineer– Indianapolis, IN
Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc is the premier supplier of automation solutions to the word’s largest food, beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical companies.
Over the last 20 years, the Design Group has developed into one of the leading engineering and system integration companies in North America with 14 regional offices and over 350 professionals on staff. In response to continued growth of our core business, we are actively seeking experienced engineering professionals for our Indianapolis (Carmel) office. We have specific needs for strong Project Engineers/ Project Managers.
Education
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of project engineering/management experience with packaging line and/or automation applications.
Requirements/Responsibilities
Responsibilities include accountability for all aspects of project execution including line layout engineering, vendor/contractor management, equipment procurement, schedule management, project finances, site management and installation support.
This position requires the ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities. Candidates need to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors. Maintaining and growing solid client relationships is a key responsibility.
Requires excellent engineering and project management skills, including machinery applications, computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, & AutoCAD), and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Candidates must be proficient at converting verbal, written, and other media-based information into project documentation, managing integration of packaging automation lines, and leading project teams.
Travel Requirements
40-60% travel will be required on a sporadic basis to support installation and start-up activities, attend Client meetings and other meetings. The vast majority of this travel will be regional.

The Design Group currently has a staff of 350 professionals including project managers, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and validation engineers, computer programmers, and other technical specialists with experience in a wide variety of industrial automation applications.
