Job Description
This position is responsible for coordinating and managing all defined activities, personnel and other resources involved in the analysis, planning, implementation, documentation and support of Food Group operations process improvement projects. This position works closely with Process Specialists and Production Managers at plants to ensure completion of projects in timely and cost effective manner.
This position is required to: Lead and support multi-disciplinary project teams through the use of Project Management techniques/processes and activities that require evaluation, planning, communication, implementation, and follow-up.
Requires the ability to lead decision making processes, lead root cause analysis, utilize available improvement tools (such as lean manufacturing), provide analytical & financial analysis / studies as required, and drive non-capital improvements at our facilities.
Support continuous improvement by leading or supporting major cost reduction and quality improvement teams.
Provide support as needed for capital planning & project justification.
This position requires: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or equivalent experience (i.e. Food Science, Industrial Engineer, Operations Manufacturing), formal training in Project Management or at least 2 years experience using project management methodologies, 5 years experience working with/in manufacturing operations, with an understanding of process, mechanical and quality assurance issues (2+ years of potato processing experience is desirable), and at least 2 years experience as a supervisor, or leading project teams.
