Job Description
Our client seeks a degreed Engineer (mechanical, chemical, electrical or industrial) with 1-5 years prior experience in a food or consumer packaged goods manufacturing environment. Will be responsible assisting in the implementation of a new manufacturing program. Experience with Continuous Improvement programs, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is highly desired. Responsibilities include: • support and implement new processes by supporting activities to eliminate losses. • Support training and educate plant personnel during the process and lead them through change. • Influence and obtain commitment from all levels of the plant for program implementation. • Lead and train continuous improvement teams. • Coach department managers and supervisors on integration of new lean tools. • Maintain plant and performance metrics consistent with methodologies. • Utilize strong engineering skills to find and correct underlying issues during Root Cause Analysis and Breakdown Elimination efforts. • Manage projects that will deliver strong results aimed at improving machine and plant efficiencies. • Possess strong analytical skills to interpret information and make decisions. • Develop and/or execute effective training plans to further develop team members’ skills and knowledge to achieve proper execution of operating procedures. • Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs in the production areas.
