Job Description
The Judge Group, INC. is currently in search of a Degreed Quality Assurance Manager with a USDA Manufacturing background for a Large USDA Manufacturing Facility located in Minneapolis, MN.

Job Requirements and Reporting Structure: Responsible for overall quality assurance management, food safety, and Regulatory compliance for the manufacturing facility. Works very closely with local and regional USDA/FSIS, and USDA/AMS authorities, customer representatives, and auditors. Reports to the Quality Assurance Director.

Essential Job Functions: 1. Build a strong Quality Management system throughout all facilities. Train Quality Assurance Supervisors, in updating, maintaining, and implementation of pertinent regulatory documents and records, product specifications, quality assurance records, and quality assurance personnel records/ files. 2. Update, modify, and revise Quality Assurance and Food Safety policies and procedures. Enforce and monitor quality programs for products manufactured. 3. Establish and monitor the acceptance criteria for products and controls the disposition of nonconformance. 4. Assure all products produced in the plants meet or exceed customer requirements for quality. 5. Confers with management, customers, and other representatives in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and enforcing the quality assurance program in conformance with customer requirements and production schedules. 6. Provide leadership for the Quality Assurance Supervisors at the plant. 7. Works with Government agencies and auditors 8. Participate in plant management and operational meetings.

REQUIREMENTS: 1. Minimum Bachelor of Science in the following disciplines preferred: Biology, Microbiology, Food Science or other biological sciences. Bachelor degree in other areas will be considered. Masters and higher are preferred. 2. At least 3 years experience in the beef/poultry/pork/etc. industry at supervisory/management level is required with a minimum (3) three years experience within a USDA Manufacturing Facility. 3. Strong background in inspection and auditing activities. 4. Working knowledge of microbiology, aseptic sampling technique, sampling plans, and laboratory practices. 5. HACCP certified and demonstrate excellent understanding of HACCP, GMP, and SSOP. 6. Must have practical knowledge regarding the Labeling law, nutritional requirements for meat/beef/poultry/USDA products. 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, people skills, and strong leadership ability. 8. Must have detailed and practical knowledge in plant sanitation practices. 9. Excellent working knowledge of the regulatory requirements for meat products. 10. Working knowledge of statistical software and AS400 inventory system is a plus. 11. Must be able to utilize the universal computer software.
