Job Description
ARS Direct is currently seeking a R&D Technologist for our client in North Boston, MA.
Description: Position involves the development of a wide range of bakery products from bench top development through commercialization. Responsibilities include sourcing ingredients; preparing bench top samples, samples for sales/marketing efforts, assisting in commercialization; validating production, packaging and processing specifications; and designing & conducting shelf life studies. Position will also be part of a cross-functional team with Quality Assurance and Production.
Accountabilities include the following; execution of experiments, interpretation of results and translate to possible solutions, maintain accurate and complete records, demonstrate motivated self-confidence and creative problem-solving skills, follow direction of supervisor, develop relationships and understanding of other functional departments.
Background requirements: Applicant should have solid working knowledge of applicable food ingredient functionality, formulating, mixing, baking and process development. Applicant is to have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects, a creative approach to the development process and effective time management skills. Basic computer skills required including MS Office. Applicant must have high energy and a willingness to learn from a professional team environment.

Experience: 2-4 years experience in Product Development with baked goods or related industry.
