OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor at our City of Industry location.
Job Description: Primary responsibilities are to provide leadership and day-to-day management of operations activities within the City of Industry Plant to ensure outstanding safety, cost, quality, and manufacturing execution.
Act as leader to support the plant management team and other in-plant teams to assist them in improving operations in all areas of the plant; decreasing the cost through improvements and insuring that plant operations meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Ensure employees are following Unilever safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental standards in operations and maintenance of equipment through day-to-day interaction, inspections and training of personnel.
2. Supervise all aspects of shift operations. Prepare daily operating reports and plant records required for the shift. Maintain a clean and orderly department. Maintain personal and personnel safety as first priority.
3. Understand production runs and schedule adherence needs. Manage schedule adjusting and making decision based on business needs. Coordinate staffing to ensure that the production process runs smoothly – including communication with affected departments, department personnel, and shift-to-shift communication about priorities, and schedules.
4. Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities through TPM methodologies. Actively engages in a leadership role with the EM and AM pillar teams. Lead TPM activity in the plant. Work with engineering, maintenance and others on project teams
5. Drive issue resolution on their respective shift. Communicate issues across shifts.
6. Handle department personal/interpersonal issues effectively to build the overall team motivation and spirit. Lead troubleshooting activities related to equipment failures, quality problems or environmental issues. Motivate, coach, and counsel employees on job performance and teamwork. Educate employees in Unilever business goals and priorities. Lead change activities.
3-5 yrs experience required.
Engineering degree preferred
