Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor position leads, oversees and directs the activities of the maintenance staff on all shifts in a Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) team-based environment. This position is responsible for enforcement of safety policies and procedures; maintenance budget preparation, administration, and control; work request (F-TAG) process administration; maintenance stores inventory administration; time-based and condition-based preventative maintenance (PM) administration; equipment breakdown analysis; leadership of Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar; maintaining and improving plant and department productivity; maintaining and improving plant and department quality performance; planning and implementing maintenance staff skill training; and other projects as assigned. The Maintenance Supervisor works along with Operations to ensure adherence to manufacturing schedules, budgets, and quality requirements while maintaining personnel and safety policies. The Maintenance Supervisor has direct supervisory responsibility for both line and facility mechanics and leads the Effective Management (EM) Pillar.
Responsible for safety, efficiency and low cost production at the Corona, CA manufacturing operation on multiple shifts during operating and non-operating hours.
Ensure assigned employees are following Unilever safety, quality, hygiene and environmental standards. Impact - achieve zero incidents and world-class performance.
Ensure appropriate jobs skills and regulatory training is provided and documented. Impact - knowledgeable workforce ready to drive the business forward.
Resolve technical problems in the packing, warehouse and process areas by working with operators, mechanics and engineers. Impact – consistently meet customer and consumer needs.
Identify continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities. Manage maintenance spending, constantly seeking the least cost approach to assuring on-going process capability in meeting Supply Chain and Customer requirements.
Practice and coach Root Cause Analysis methodology.
Manage department projects. Impact – Drive the business to world class.
Approve time cards.
Administer disciplinary action, as required, in accordance with company policies and plant rules.
Coordinate and execute special projects as assigned.
Lead troubleshooting activities related to equipment failures, quality and environmental issues, and staffing issues using TPM analysis tools.
Motivate, coach and counsel employees on job performance and teamwork.
Educate employees in Unilever business goals and priorities and lead change activities.
Prioritize and adjust production runs to best meet business concerns.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably technical or engineering.
Experience: Technical/Maintenance Supervisory experience (3 - 5 years)
