Unilever Canada has an immediate need for a Production Control Analyst to join the Plant Finance Ice Cream team. This position will be located at Unilever’s Ice Cream plant in Simcoe, Ontario (located about 45 min from Brantford; 1 hour from Cambridge or Hamilton).
Reporting to the Plant Controller - Simcoe, this position will be responsible for accurate recording, reporting and analysis of all Production Floor reporting functions relating to mixes (Mix Room activities) and finished goods production (Production Floor activities). This encompasses the accurate reporting and reconciliation of work center material usage, direct labour reporting, cycle count reporting and downtime reporting.
Critical success factors for the position are thorough analytics and timely & accurate reporting for all areas of production floor inventory/work order activities.
The general responsibilities of the Production Floor Analyst in the Supply Chain plant environment will include the following:
Inventory Control – Daily reconciliation and recording of mix component usage against mix work orders and production floor component usage against finished goods production orders. Appropriate explanation & variance follow up is required on abnormal waste levels. Maintain daily cycle count sheets for nightly physical counts.
Labour Reporting – Validation/recording of daily direct labour hours worked against individual production orders, as well as allocation of work order downtime hours.
Internal Mgmt Reporting – Prepare daily / weekly production efficiency variance reporting package for internal plant mgmt review.
Annual Material Counts – Key person responsible for detailed data accumulation & reconciliation of annual plant component material physical count.
Process Improvement – Provide KPI data/information to process improvement teams when required in support of the Simcoe KTE initiatives.
The successful candidate will be results-oriented with demonstrated initiative and drive. In addition, he or she will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical ability, sound knowledge of inventory control processes in a manufacturing environment, and an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The individual must be adept at working independently as well as working well in a team atmosphere. The successful candidate will ideally have completed post-secondary studies with a materials management/business emphasis. A solid working knowledge of computerized business inventory control systems (e.g. SAP) as well as strong PC-based computer applications (Excel/Word) is required.
