Job Description
General Purpose:
Develop national procurement programs for the largest dairy cooperative in the United States with $12 billion dollars annual revenue and 20 plus facilities geographically dispersed in all regions of the country. Goals are to drive operational excellence and implement best practices to reduce costs and improve performance. A working knowledge of commodity management, information technology, project management, packaging, and plant operations as well as plant and corporate services is optimal.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Sources, negotiates, and manages spend in categories such as capital, operating supplies, and special projects to meet the enterprises needs in the most cost efficient manner
Leverage the spend of various DFA facilities to lower procurement costs
Identify and coordinate best practices across business units
Actively and effectively communicate and support DFA’s purchasing policies and procedures
Serve as point of contact to source, qualify and approve new suppliers
Participate in quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to monitor and manage supply chain programs
Develop, standardize and streamline electronic procurement practices
Make recommendations regarding timing and quantity of purchases and selection of vendors
Change agent with the capacity to implement supply chain strategies across a variety of business units
Drive continuous process improvement through the DFA Supply Chain

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Minimum 10 years progressive experience in Supply Chain/Procurement Field
Bachelors Degree Required and Master’s Degree desired in Business, Economics, or Supply Chain Management
Certifications are a plus
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
Skilled in Negotiation, Market Analysis, and Contract Formulation
Experience in Project Management
Strong Organizational and Problem Solving Skills
Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
Unquestionable Ethics
Thorough understanding of capital acquisition process
Working knowledge of dairy/agricultural plant operations

Percent Travel: 10-30%
