POET, the world's largest ethanol producer has an incredible opportunity available for a strong leader in chemical engineering. The Technical Manager directly supervises the operations and labl teams and is accountbale for all plant operations and production goals. This position is located at the Lake Crystal, MN Biorefining location.

The Technical Manager reports to the plant General Manager and responsibilities include:

• Supervises maintenance, operations, and lab staff on a day-to-day basis, including determining workloads and schedules, implementing and interpreting policies and procedures, evaluating and training staff, approving and making hiring and termination recommendations
• Strive for maximum efficiency in plant operations, optimize plant up-time or runtime and minimize all plant downtime.
• Oversee accountabilities for all aspects of environmental, health and safety of all plant personnel, plant operations and the community in which we operate.
• Ensure that all city, county, state and federal regulations are being met at all times.
• Ultimately responsible for performance management of all operations and lab employees. This may include: interviewing & hiring, performance reviews, goal-setting, production goals, disciplinary action, career development, succession planning.

  Position Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree or greater in chemical or mechanical engineering. Experience: 5+ years of experience in an operating processing plant such as grain, chemical or food processing. 3+ yrs management experience.
